Sampdoria have been linked with a ‘shock move’ for Ryan Christie although it doesn’t seem like a bid is imminent.
With his contract expiring in January the midfielder will have a major say in his own future but the weeks before the transfer window closes will be tricky to negotiate.
Tom Rogic and David Turnbull are options for Christie’s preferred ‘number 10’ position with Ange Postecoglou making it clear that he only wants to deal with players committed to the club.

The Serie A outfit are looking to rebuild after missing out on European football last season. Samp are looking to start again under new coach Roberto D’Aversa, who replaced Claudio Ranieri They are aware the 26-year-old is out of contract in January and can sign a pre-contract now.
Christie looks unlikely to sign an extension and if that remains the case then Celtic could look to cash in before the close of the window.

A year ago Christie was viewed as one of Celtic’s top assets but like most of his team-mates the 20/21 season was one best forgotten.
With James Forrest injured in September Neil Lennon’s lack of wide options saw Christie shuttled out onto the right where he preferred to cut inside rather than overlap.
His poor form continued into the European Championships where he managed 45 minutes in the opener against the Czech Republic then watched Scotland’s remaining matches from the sidelines.
