Marian Shved appears to be in a stand-off with Celtic.

The winger isn’t in the squad of almost 40 players with Ange Postecoglou in Wales while a loan deal to Mechelen doesn’t seem to be any closer.

Shved was signed during the disastrous January 2019 transfer window with Vakoun Bayo moved on yesterday to Gent.

The Ukrainian is under contract until June 2023 but it looks increasingly unlikely that he’ll be seen again in the Celtic first team.

The Daily Record reports:

Shved appears to have no future in Glasgow after not being included in their pre-season trip to Wales and has previously made it clear he wants to return to Belgium.

However, Mechelen have yet to reach an agreement with Celtic to bring him back on loan and aren’t sure whether they will manage to strike a deal now.

Celtic have got rid of most of their unwanted, fringe players in the squad with Vakoun Bayo the latest to leave in a £1.4 million move to Gent.

But they still have Shved on their books, despite him making it clear last month he wanted to play for Mechelen this season.

Shved won’t be the only player looking for a move out of Celtic but the others seem to know the best way out is to be involved in pre-season matches and regain fitness.

Postecoglou has gone on record saying that he is short of wingers with teenager Owen Moffat given his chance against Sheffield Wednesday.

Last season Shved started nine matches for Mechelen with a further 13 appearances coming off the bench.
