Kyogo Furuhashi PLAYS today for Vissel Kobe in their J-League match against Cerezo Osaka.
Yesterday it was announced that the 26-year-old was joining Celtic but clearly the deal has still to be completed with Celtic facing an anxious 90 minutes hoping that their new signing remains unscathed.
Transfers are never complete until the contract is signed and registered, two years ago David Turnbull was almost over the line before a medical kicked off a long weekend with the transfer delayed 13 months.
Back in 2017 Rivaldo Coetzee was on the brink of joining Celtic but his medical let him down with the defender only back in regular action this year.
The ‘signing’ of Furuhashi has been welcomed almost universally by Celtic fans, impressed by the You Tube clips of a player that appears very comfortable in any forward position.
Vissel Kobe are currently third in the J League but it is the fitness of their soon to depart star man that will be of interest to Celtic fans today rather than taking full points from Cerezo Osaki.
Surprised to see Furuhashi in starting lineup. Seems an unnecessary risk for the player and @CelticFC https://t.co/M9URC9ICpa

Is this Kyogo’s last game for you guys, also is this normal in Japanese football to let a player have a final game at a club?
