Fabrizio Romano expects Kris Ajer to leave Celtic.
The Italian based reporter has suddenly become the go-to source of Celtic transfer rumours and activity after revealing the first details of interest in Carl Starfelt.
That move seems to be at an advanced stage with reports from Sweden claiming that it is a medical away from completion.
While Ange Postecoglou is looking to bring players in there is also a backlog in players looking to move away.
Odsonne Edouard, Ryan Christie and Olivier Ntcham are within the final 12 months of their contracts but Kris Ajer is the only player to have gone public about his wish to move on.
During international duty with Norway last month Ajer expressed his wish to play in a top five league, claiming that it had been discussed with Celtic last summer with a move delayed to try and secure 10-in-a-row.
As every Celtic fan now knows keeping players against their will isn’t a sensible policy, as new faces come into the club it is just as important that those reluctantly at the club move on.
Brentford, Newcastle and Norwich have been strongly linked with Ajer, according to Romano it is just a case of which deal Celtic accept with the defender close to the exit door.
Celtic have reached an agreement with Rubin Kazan to sign Carl Starfelt, done deal and here we go. €5m as final fee – negotiations completed. Next target: Brandon Soppy. ??? #Celtic
Official announcement soon for Starfelt, personal terms agreed as advanced one week ago. ?? https://t.co/2X9k2zqb48
