Jack Ross is bracing himself for bids coming in for Ryan Porteous, Kevin Nisbet and Josh Doig.

All three have been linked with Celtic this year with striker Nisbet likely to be on the move after breaking into the Scotland international side.

There has been plenty of friction between the boardrooms of Celtic and Hibs in recent years with the John McGinn saga turning out to be especially painful and costly for the hoops.

A year ago Celtic paid £3m to sign David Turnbull from Motherwell with that sort of fee likely to be the entry level for any of the Hibs targets.

We have still got them at the moment, they are still here training with me. Naturally I want to keep them but I am not naïve enough to not expect there to be either interest, or concrete interest

We just have to make sure that we are ready for that because there will come the right time for these players to move as well. Should the problem we don’t want arise, we have just got to find a solution to it.

Celtic broke their transfer duck on Wednesday with a £3.5m fee paid for Liel Abada but have until 11pm tonight to register their squad with UEFA for next week’s Champions League tie against Midtjylland.

Two changes can be made to the squad by 11pm on Monday but going by past experiences it is unlikely that there will be any quick deals from Easter Road to Celtic Park.
