Alfredo Morelos has tried to claim a UEFA Champions League goal.
The want-away striker did find the net last night against Malmo but a third round qualifier is a long, long way from the bright lights of Zadoc The Priest and the other trimmings that come with football’s greatest club competition.
After his extended summer break in Columbia Morelos was firing blanks at Dundee United on Saturday but last night an 18th minute cross came off his shoulders and neck to trundle over the line to level off the aggregate scores.
Fortunately justice was served to the 10 men of Malmo when Antonio Colak netted a double that exposed the limitations of the Ibrox defence.
Morelos went into hiding, picking up a yellow card as his side crashed out knowing that if he doesn’t get out in the next three weeks he’ll be stuck in Scotland for another bleak winter at Ibrox.
With reality making an unwelcome return to the life of the Gullibles and his team-mates missing out on bonus money tonight possibly wasn’t the best time to celebrate a personal milestone.

Well, there’s good news and bad news. The bad news is that Rangers are out of the UCL and some of you will lose your jobs. I know, gutting. On a more positive note, the good news is, I’ve scored, so… every cloud. You’re still thinking about the bad news aren’t you?

Just got dumped out of the champions league by a ten man team and he is tweeting this? So easy to tell rangers aren’t a serious club
