Michael Stewart has hit out at the elephant in the room of 50,000 fans in a stadium celebrating Ant-Irish racism.

No comment was made by Sky Sports as they exported the sounds and images of Ibrox worldwide following a march through the centre of Glasgow where hundreds sang the outlawed Famine Song.

It was the first time in almost two years that fans were allowed inside Ibrox for a game against Celtic with the supporters pouring out their traditional hatred.

Back in May, for the second time this year, thousands of Ibrox fans created havoc across Glasgow city centre during Tier 4 restrictions.

Very little appears to have been done about that despite the apparent horror from Nicola Sturgeon over anti-Irish hatred on the streets of the city she represents in Holyrood.

Stewart is a rarity among the raft of pundits employed by BBC Scotland in that he will call out issues that others won’t touch with a barge pole.

After a couple of token statements and mock outrage by politicians and civil leaders in the next few days it will soon be packaged off again as an Old Firm problem with no-one involved in Scottish football prepared to Call It Out.
