With 10 days left for Ross Wilson to raise £20m from the transfer market Steven Gerrard has warned clubs that Ryan Kent is badly out of form.

The former Liverpool winger is apparently one of the top assets at Ibrox but was the fall guy last night being substituted at half-time in the laboured 1-0 win over Alashkert.

Not content with that snub Gerrard went into detail when asked about Kent’s loss of form during today’s in-house media conferment with The Sun reports his manager saying:

I think that’s a question you need to ask Ryan when he faces the media. I’m sure he will be facing the media in the coming weeks.

I think it is clear he’s not at his best level right now. But, as his manager and as a staff, we will give him the support he needs to try and get him back in the best place as quick as we can.

Ryan has been absolutely phenomenal for me and the club since he has walked through the door. It is very rare to see him when he’s not in top form but this is it, he is human, it happens.

Borna Barisic was left on the bench last night with the ‘Croatian international star’ also on the hit list of players that Wilson can sell to raise funds.

With losses running at £2m a month last season it seems that the Ibrox club were pinning their hopes on a £30m Champions League windfall to meet their commitments through till the end of the season.

On Thursday Gerrard will find out if his side will be in the Europa League or the conference when they take their 1-0 lead to Alashkert with the first Glasgow derby following three days later.
