Don Robertson continued the portrayal of Celtic as the boot boys of Scottish football during their comfortable 3-0 win over Ross County.

For the fourth domestic home fixture of the season Ange Postecoglou’s side enjoyed more than 70% possession- while committing more fouls that their opponents.

Despite having the ball for more than twice the amount of time that Ross County were in possession Robertson awarded the visitors nine free-kicks against the eight that Celtic were given.

As a one off that wouldn’t be much of an issue but it is a repeat of previous home matches this season.

Yesterday the possession stats were 73%-23% in Celtic’s favour, the foul count was 9-8 against the hoops.

Last month in the Premier Sports Cup tie against Hearts the possession split was 72%-28% with Celtic committing 14 fouls to the 11 awarded against Hearts.

In contrast at McDiarmid Park yesterday Steven Gerrard’s side had a 70%-30% split on possession. Willie Collum awarded the dominant visitors 14 fouls with 11 given to St Johnstone.

No Scottish officials took part in the 2021 European Championship Finals.
