With the international break thankfully over Ange Postecoglou will be welcoming back some very frustrated players to Lennoxtown.

Taken out of their club environment David Turnbull, Carl Starfelt, Albian Ajeti and Liam Scales didn’t play a single minute of football while on international duty.

Turnbull watched from the bench both Scotland games as Steve Clarke’s side scrambled to late victories over Israel and the Faroe Isles.

For Starfelt things were bleaker as he watched from stand having failed to make the bench for Sweden’s home wins over Kosovo and Greece.

Ajeti made the Switzerland bench for the wins over Northern Ireland and Lithuania but Scales’ lack of game time continued as he looked on from the sidelines as Ireland discovered some form with wins over Azerbaijan and Qatar.

There were better fortunes for Callum McGregor, Tom Rogic and Kyogo Furuhashi who were all involved yesterday for Scotland, Australia and Japan respectively.
