Scotland’s broadcast media just don’t know how to handle Ange Postecoglou.

The Australian is cut from an entirely different cloth to the usual figures on the Scottish managerial circuit. Normally managers will play along with the media by bailing them out when a question comes out the wrong way.

But not Ange, when he uses the word mate in his reply the questioner is probably going red off camera on the Zoom Call.

There has been more than a few mate references in recent weeks, yesterday the BBC reporter invited in on the call decided to go for a positive upbeat opener.

At the start of October Celtic were six points in the title race, four wins later and a victory over Livingston will take the hoops to the top of the table.

What could possibly be a softer question to open up with to the Celtic manager?

Yeah? Do you get something for that? In October? Yeah, I mean, it’s a good opportunity for us to continue our good form. Our performances have been pretty consistent. That’s been backed up by the results, which obviously means we’ve moved up the table, which is great.

Ultimately, the focus tomorrow is more about just continuing on that progress we’ve been making. Back at home, we want to make sure our football is again [at the] levels we need to be.

When it is, we know we’re a good combination of players who can take it to any opposition. So that’s our aim for tomorrow.
