Celtic’s festive trip to St Johnstone will be shown live by Sky Sports but the December trips to Ross County and St Mirren will be left to pay-per-view options direct from the clubs.

Sky Sports have announced their latest batch of SPFL fixtures to be shown live with the January 2 Glasgow Derby getting a 12 noon kick off slot with the St Johnstone match on December 26 shown at 12.30pm

Over recent seasons almost all Celtic away matches have been shown live by Sky Sports or BT Sport but with Sky having an exclusive deal it seems that only half of the matches will be screened by the satellite firm.

In past seasons matches at Motherwell and Hibs would be televised but Celtic’s visits later this month has been overlooked with the November 7 trip to Dundee the next match to be beamed live.

A month later the December 5 match away to Dundee United will be shown live but the days of blanket coverage of away matches appears to be over.

If I was a subscriber to sky and paid for a full package to watch my team and they failed to put on the match I would want a refund glad I stopped paying to watch sky sports many years ago .
