Opposition to the rumoured appointment of Bernard Higgins to a security role at Celtic is being mobilised across the globe.

Celtic’s last three SPFL matches have saw protests range from a silence to a sit-in with a tennis ball protest in-between.

At the recent AGM Celtic chairman Ian Bankier refused to be drawn on speculation about the man most closely identified with the Offensive Behaviour at Football Act taking on a role inside the club.

From wherever the story was leaked the Green Brigade has taken the issue to heart with more than 200 supporter groups and clubs putting their name to an open letter sent to acting CEO Michael Nicholson.

Celtic seem to be sitting it out but the imagination, organisation and determination of the Green Brigade to raise the issue would put the impress even the sharpest of PR firms.

Posters and banners protesting about Higgins are appearing across the globe, on Thursday night they’ll be present around Celtic Park as a backdrop to the title challenge being put together by Ange Postecoglou and his squad.
