The Green Brigade have announced their latest protest plan against the appointment of Bernard Higgins.

Celtic’s last three matches have featured protests of varying types, against Aberdeen yesterday a couple of hundred fans staged an after-match sit in protest that lasted for 45 minutes after the final whistle.

Other than being non-committal at the recent AGM there has been no comment from Celtic about the rumoured appointment of Higgins into a security role at the club.

With the backing of a significant number of fans attending matches the Green Brigade has taken heart to step up their protests.

There seems little prospect of a quick resolution to the issue. Both sides appear to be fully committed to their stance leaving no middle ground for compromise.

After the match with Hearts the next home match is against Real Betis in the Europa League, protest in that match could lead to a fine from UEFA.

What’s the basis for the UEFA fine?
The European Big Whigs (sic) don’t take kindly to ‘ Political protests’ or anti UEFA / FIFA banners.
I don’t think any official match observers would even note an ‘ in house issue’.
They wouldn’t even know the backstory.
I’m tempted to say ‘Fake News’ here or even that the article is just a tenuous link to – all the GB are good for is getting the Club into hot water with SFA/UEFA/FIFA etc.
