Celtic ‘will advance the definite signing of Jota’ for a fee of 7.5M€ according to a Portuguese Twitter account.

There is no link to any internet site but with 36,200 Twitter followers while following just 1,736 accounts Pedro Almeida must have some sort of track record.

A complex agreement is in place between Celtic and Benfica for a permanent transfer but any decision will finally rest with the player.

A Google search reveals a Linkedin profile of that name for someone who was a Sports Psychologist at Benfica from 1994 to 1991, whether the two accounts are genuine and/or linked can’t be proved but it does suggest someone that may know Benfica’s transfer business.

Since his deadline day arrival on a season long loan Jota has been Celtic’s most influential and consistent performer. Last night at Hampden the game became fairly industrial with six yellow cards for St Johnstone players but there was no suggestion of Jota hiding from the gritty action.

Almost all of Celtic’s creativity and chances came from down the left flank, in the 74th minute it was the Benfica man that won the ball and created an assist for James Forrest to score the only goal of the game.
