It was a whole new experience for almost all of the Celtic players as they saluted the fans after their Hampden win over St Johnstone.
Callum McGregor, Nir Bitton and James Forrest have done it down the years but for Scottish Cup winner David Turnbull and others it was a whole new ball game as the hoops booked a League Cup Final place by edging past St Johnstone to secure a return trip to Hampden.
Semi-finals are rarely memorable with little beyond the refereeing performance of Nick Walsh to distinguish today’s encounter.
It’s party time for the Celtic fans and players at Hampden! ?

St Johnstone were able to employ some strong arm tactics to add to their defensive ability as they guarded Zander Clark’s goal with real enthusiasm
One sliced clearance from the keeper changed the game. Some determination from Jota and know how from James Forrest and the match was won despite seven minutes of stoppage time.
Celtic have 11 more matches to complete before they reach the winter break on the evening of January 2- hopefully there will be many more celebrations to match tonight.
We need to sign Jota right now ,I know we’ve got an option to buy ,but what if the big European clubs or EPL start sniffing around he has got the option to go to any of them , we’ve no hold over this guy till we sign him permanently.
