Many Celtic fans were delighted by the news that the January 2 Derby match will be played in front of home fans only.
At the end of August Celtic had 700 tickets withdrawn late in the day after they couldn’t guarantee a reciprocal deal for the January Derby.
Four years ago 7,000 away fans used to be able to get tickets for the fixture but after four successive away wins at Ibrox the response was to cut the away allocation by 90%.
Celtic went along with that, since September 2018 less than 1,000 away fans have been allowed in to Scotland’s showpiece fixture with no suggestion that either club will be seen to be turning back the clock.
Last season no fans were allowed to attend any of the five derby matches, despite those restrictions being lifted it seems that neither club has any appetite for change.
Celtic have still to formally announce their ticket decision but after answering the question at a Fan Forum it’s unlikely that they will reconsider.

Remember Edouard closed the broomloan stand

This nonsense all started with rangers reduced allocation to Celtic at ibrox….tit for tat. Ruining it. Rangers banned Celtic last time. Service retuned on this game.

What goes around comes around as they say… if they could have handled getting hammered every Glasgow Derby it would never have come to this.

This was always going to be the case but they should go back to the old allocations for the next round of games and I don’t mean that 800 carry on

Totally agree they kept us out ov ibrox for the first game so make it fair and keep them out for the 2nd game, THEN think about letting each other back in to their grounds

I don’t think the full allocation will ever be back unfortunately as they have sold season tickets in the broomloan that include the fixture I’m sure

Personally I’m glad. Why should they get tickets. They reap what they sow as far as I’m concerned. ??????
— Patricia Goldie (@PatriciaGoldie6) November 1, 2021
Never give them tickets again.

Why do I keep reading that both teams need to sort it out? No they do not the guilty party needs to sort it out! I have no doubt Celtic would go back to the old amount of 7000 if trifc approached us and sorted it. This is not tit for tat it was all their doing.
Fuk the Huns, NEVER LET THEM BACK IN!!
The campaign by the Daily Record and other cream buns in the media to get them back in for the game
Starts now .
