Ange Postecoglou has given a vote of confidence to the side that beat Dundee 4-2 a fortnight ago by naming the same starting XI to face St Johnstone at Hampden today.

Stephen Welsh has shrugged off a knock on u-21 duty with Scotland to join Cameron Carter-Vickers in central defence.

Seven of the side have been away on international duty but have been back for two days training before tonight’s match against the cup holders.

Ismaila Soro, Albian Ajeti and Osaze Urhoghide make it onto the bench with five substitutes allowed in League Cup ties with the match played to a finish.

Nick Walsh, who refereed a story clash between the two clubs in the SPFL last season will be in charge of today’s match at Hampden.

CELTIC: Hart; Ralston, Carter-Vickers, Welsh, Juranovic; Bitton, McGregor, Turnbull; Abada, Kyogo, Jota

SUBS: Bain, Scales, Ajeti, McCarthy, Forrest, Johnston, Soro, Urhoghide, Montgomery
