There was absolutely no denying it, watching on television it seemed like the whole crowd was booing as Celtic took the knee in the Ferencvaros Stadium.

As the Portuguese referee prepared to start the match Ange Postecoglou’s players took the knee to a wall of booing and abuse from the home fans.

There was certainly an early edge to the match as the winless home side tried to salvage something from their Europa League group.
Celtic were more than a match for their aggressive opponents backed by hostile fans, first half goals from Kyogo and Jota put Celtic in front at the break.
Any football fan watching Celtic’s third goal would have to quietly approve of the build up and execution as Liel Abada put Celtic 3-1 in front.
Celtic left Hungary with six points from two matches against their champion club, behind them is a country and population struggling to come to terms with changing times and attitudes.
