Celtic face an anxious wait to assess the extent of James Forrest’s injury at Tannadice yesterday.

The winger was substituted at half-time after starting back-to-back matches for the first time since August.

Forrest has been unable to put together a serious run of appearances since the start of last season with a tight hamstring reported yesterday.

Picking up on Ange Postecoglou’s post-match interview with Radio Scotland, The Sun reports the Celtic boss saying:

We will just wait and see. He felt a bit tight in his hamstring. We decided that with the game the way it was going it was better to take him off at half-time. It was good for Liel [Abada] to get out there as well.

Over the last six weeks Tom Rogic, Carl Starfelt and Jota have also suffered hamstring injuries to various extents, for Rogic and Starfelt it meant a month out of action.

With Jota looking like being out of contention until after the winter break any similar type injury for Forrest would leave Liel Abada and Mikey Johnston as the only wingers available to Postecoglou.

Adam Montgomery could be pushed forward but at the busiest time of the season it looks like Postecoglou could be running short of first choice picks.
