Ange Postecoglou is expecting outward movement of players during the January transfer window.

During the summer Kis Ajer, Odsonne Edouard, Olivier Ntcham and Ryan Christie moved on but in January it is likely that squad-fillers or deadwood will be encouraged to leave.

With new arrivals expected Vasilis Barkas, Albian Ajeti and Boli Bolingoli look to have no part to play but off-loading players can be difficult as bringing them in.

The three players above cost a combined £11m and are unlikely to be offered similar terms elsewhere after flopping at Celtic.

Whether professional pride will override economics is difficult to judge with agents aware that they are in a strong negotiating position.

The Daily Record reports Postecoglou saying:

My view is that we can still improve the squad and we want to improve the squad in January and the club is supporting me in that.

Some guys will be going on loan and some will be moving out, that’s only natural as everything progresses. Some of that will depend on the players themselves and where they feel they are at. Circumstances change and I expect some players will be moving on.

Liam Shaw, Osaze Urhighide and Liam Scales could go out on loan but a lot will depend on which players Postecoglou can bring in in January.
