I’m not “rattled”, “hurting”, “bitter” or “deflated” BBC reporter Jane Lewis hits back at Celtic fans

Jane Lewis has taken to Twitter with gusto to defend her presentation of Sportsound on Radio Scotland last night.

Richard Gordon is the usual presenter but last night Lewis took charge on a night of drama where even the BBC Scotland website jumped the gun to comment on Celtic falling six points behind in the SPFL Premiership title race. They didn’t, today the gap remains at four points

A red card, seven minutes of stoppage time and a last gasp winner from a defender for a team missing seven forward players presented plenty of headline topics but it seems that the goal celebrations of Celtic fans was the priority on Radio Scotland.

Fans shouldn’t be out of the stand, that isn’t up for debate but in a terrace with seats installed behind the goal that Ralston scored at there is bound to be movement as Celtic fans celebrated the goal.

Some overstepped the mark, taking selfies and running around the pitch but it was confined to a small area with only one set of supporters involved. It was over and done with in less than a minute.

Last night’s match wasn’t shown on Sky Sports, more fans that usual were listening to the state broadcaster with the perception of doom among their staff picked up by Celtic supporters.

Most experienced media operators know to be very selective over social media interaction, not Jane from the BBC.

I agree, the fans should never be on the park but the distinct difference in reporting is notable.
I remember a few years ago when The Rangers scored an injury time goal to beat Partick Thistle it was “good natured” celebrations.
I also watched a video, posted by Hibs, of a young fan running on to the park at full time to get Gogic’s shirt. To be fair the player chatted with the young fan and gave him his shirt. The young boy then wanders off. Compare that with our Keystone stewarding where fans are on the park for thirty seconds before they burst into life and lumber on to the park like over inflated Michelin men.
I can only assume that the events in Dingwall were also good natured as there are no reports of Ross County players being assaulted.

She’s keeping up the BBC anti Celtic pro hun bias

If she doesn’t she’ll be out on her a*rse and Shelley Kerr or Leanne Crichton will be taking her job

I was listening and when she mentioned sanctions I was like “…hun beeeatch!!!” but to be fair she is right, that point wasn’t dwelt on and though there was criticism of some of our defensive weaknesses there was plenty of praise for our relentless attacking.

I found it funny to listen to wee Billy “bawbag” Dodds; he said he’d saw clips and heard how good we were but now he was seeing it for himself…you could hear him simultaneously realise how good we really were becoming and how bad that was going to be for his favourite klub…and that was wonderful.

Not the first time I’ve heard that sort of instant resignation from one of thems in the media recently either…

Jane Lewis should stay quiet. When bitter people like this lie to cover up their embarrassment, they only embarrass themselves further still.
An unknown so called journalist who’s bias and bigotry expoded in her face as she attempted to hop on a corrupt bandwagon!
Crawl back under the rock and stop making a fool of yourself again and again!

I’ve no doubt of the football leanings of BBC RS reporters, guests et al but once you get involved in the “hurting”, palpitations” “perceived” etc you’ve lost. These are subjective and not objective. If you want to call these people out keep a file of all the incidents and their reporting and ask them to explain their reporting i.e. reporting a fan invasion at one game joyous celebration and an invasion at another game as something else. Ask them to explain why they said this and their reasoning behind the difference. Beware the words “most likely” as they are weasel words to allow a wriggle. If they use these words then ask why they think an investigation is most likely in one instance and not the other. Put them on the back foot.
