Osaze Urhoghide is reported to be a transfer target for League One side Morecambe.

The 21-year-old joined Celtic in the summer from Sheffield Wednesday but has only made one competitive appearance for the hoops.

Urhoghide made a favourable impression against Real Betis in the Europa League but is highly unlikely to force his way into the team ahead of Tony Ralston and Josip Juranovic.

Picking the right club to go out on loan to is a difficult art to master with The Sun reporting that Celtic would prefer the defender to move closer to home:

OSAZE URHOGHIDE is wanted by Morecambe – but Celtic also expect Scottish interest.  Ange Postecoglou is keen for the English defender to pick up extra experience on loan this month.

Morecambe boss Stephen Robinson is in the mix – but the Hoops gaffer would possibly prefer a loan to another Premiership side.

Dropping down to League One may not be ideal but with Morecombe battling against the drop, currently sitting in the fourth and final relegation place, Urhoghide will certainly have his defensive skills tested.

Celtic already have Scott Robertson on loan at Crewe in League One with Lee O’Connor and Ross Doohan down a division with Tranmere Rovers.

So far in this window Ewan Henderson and Liam Shaw have gone out on loan to Hibs and Motherwell respectively.
