Ten years ago today the internet bampots were shown to be correct when Rangers went into administration.

Duff & Phelps were unable to find anyone prepared to take the club on, a CVA was rejected by Her Majesty in June with BDO appointed to carry out the liquidation.

During the summer of 2012 the Scottish media got involved in some incredible financial gymnastics, newspapers that had announced death on the front page spun all sorts of myths on their back pages.

With the football authorities in hiding and the remaining clubs on mute a Tribute Act was welcomed on board with the same financial ethos as the one still being liquidated.

Mystery investors have been found to cover losses, for the year to 30 June 2021 the club managed to rack up £23.5m of losses without a peep from anyone in authority about Financial Fair Play.

The days of high transfer fees came to an end with Cedric Itten, Kemar Roofe and Ianis Hagi in the summer of 2020 but the loan deal for Aaron Ramsey shows that there is still no sign of fiscal responsibility.

Internet bampots are still looking closely at the figures, mystery investors seem to be thinner on the ground with Giovanni van Bronckhorst trying to secure the Champions League football that proved too much for Ally McCoist in 2011. Malmo put paid to McCoist’s dream, as they did this season to Steven Gerrard.

Typical blue nosed government and tax man, scared to push for their money, any other company would be bust and gone forever, I wonder just who is at the back of this HMRC dragging their heels. It’s time for HMRC to act and rid Scotland of this vile den. Finish Sevco off FOREVER.

And so the cycle of life in ten year periods come full circle and see us facing the prospect of a team callining itself Rangers, preparing to bust itself in order for a team called Rangers to amass 100mil of debt to win a league go bust and create a team called ???, you get the drift

  • David Walshe says:

This debarkle is only hurting Scottish football and the image of the premiership league, if leagues were won unfairly then strip them of the titles, if they don’t meet the fair play criteria then use the appropriate punishment, no team is above the law or rules of the game, otherwise rangers will demand only 9 players are allowed to take the field against them and the rangers can have unlimited subs.

  • Therese Storrie says:

They’re making up their own rules right enough

When sevco finally go bust we should refuse to accept another tribute act to follow just completely expell them turn ibrox into a pound shop or even a call centre for HMRC

  • Anton says:

They tried to close us down for owing the bank 1 million and others debts totalling 9m. Some of our own fans slaughtered wee Fergus but this would never have happened in his time at the club. Our board just don’t seem interested in standing up for the the fans and Scottish football as a whole.
