Chris Jullien has tweeted an emotional message to the Celtic support after ending his 409 day wait for competitive action.
The defender was a 74th minute substitute for Cameron Carter-Vickers in the 4-0 win over Raith Rovers as he took a significant step in his recovery.
During the dark days of December 2020 Jullien collided with a goalpost as he cleared the ball off the line in a home win over Dundee United.
The immediate concern was the January 2 fixture at Ibrox, yesterday things were much changed as he returned to action with Nir Bitton, Tom Rogic and James Forrest the only survivors from the squad that Jullien had broken into following his transfer from Toulouse in 2019.
409 days, since the last time i was subbed in Paradise… It’s been a very challenging time in my life. I thought about all the people that helped me through this journey, specially my family and friends. 1/2 pic.twitter.com/mM8OvsbLj1

Jullien was named as a substitute against Alloa on January 22 but the approach of Barry Ferguson’s side coupled with a plastic pitch made an appearance unlikely.
Now that he has played against the 28-year-old has to find a way past Stephen Welsh, Carter-Vickers and Carl Starfelt onto the Celtic team sheet.
