Ismaila Soro has been dropped from Celtic’s UEFA Conference squad to make way for Ange Postecoglou’s January signings.

The midfielder started in five UEFA matches and made three substitute appearances in the first half of the season but has been dropped to allow Reo Hatate and Matt O’Riley to experience European football.

Last Monday Soro was close to joining Fortuna Sittard, initially on loan but the move broke down over a work permit with the midfielder making a late appearance off the bench in the Glasgow derby.

Liam Shaw and Osaze Urhoghide also drop out the squad with Daizen Maeda brought in to join the striking options.

After finishing third in their Europa League group Celtic face Bodo Glint on February 17 and 24 for a place in the last 16 of the newest UEFA competition.

Boli Bolingoli remains outside the UEFA squad but there are still slots for Vasilis Barkas and Albian Ajeti.
