Willie Collum’s decision making wasn’t the only mystery at Aberdeen last night.

The defender earned rave reviews a week ago in the Glasgow derby then made a brief substitute appearance at Motherwell on Sunday.

When the Celtic side was announced last night Tony Ralston was still in place at right-back with Juranovic not listed among the nine substitutes.

No injury or illness had been reported in the build up to last night’s match, explaining Juranovic’s absence, Postecoglou told the Daily Record:

He’s got an illness. He’ll be back at the weekend, hopefully, and if not he will definitely be back for the midweek fixture next week.

Celtic take on Raith Rovers in the Scottish Cup on Sunday followed four days later by a UEFA Conference League match against Bodo Glint.

Despite winning six SPFL matches on the bounce since the winter break the heavy demands on the Celtic squad demand rotation throughout the side.

Having Juranovic and Ralston ready and available at right-back provides Postecoglou with two quality options in a key position.
