Karamoko Dembele is likely to feature for Celtic’s B team in the coming weeks as he finally gets his season underway.

The winger was badly injured in a pre-season friendly against Bristol City and has only recently returned to full training.

Karamoko faces a major battle to see any first team action with an added complication being that he has just over three months left on his contract.

Liel Abada and James Forrest have been playing on the right wing but with Celtic playing an u-20 side in the Lowland League there is another option to give the England youth internationalist playing time.

Discussing Karamoko, Postecoglou told The Herald:

He’s been training well. He’s been out for quite a long time. We might get him some game time in the B team to start with. We’ll see how he’s tracking. He’s training at the moment and getting close to being available.

Playing against Vale of Leithen, Gala Fairydean and Stirling University might not carry much glamour but after being out of action for eight months any sort of playing time will be appreciated.

Karamoko’s pedigree will ensure that there are other offers on the table for him but if Postecoglou can lay out a pathway to first team football there may be a chance of the winger signing a new contract.
