Josip Juranovic is the third Celtic player in a week to be the subject of transfer speculation. Last Wednesday Celtic emphatically won the Glasgow derby 3-0.

Straight after that result Crystal Palace were reported to be keeping tabs on Liel Abada, having signed Odsonne Edouard in the summer it would be something of a shock if they weren’t watching a 14 goal winger thriving in the same environment.

At the weekend Tom Rogic’s double prompted questions about whether contract talks were being held with the midfielder’s Celtic deal running out in June 2023.

More credible and concerning is interest in Josip Juranovic. No club or fee was mentioned, the comment was fairly vague but when Fabrizio Romano discusses transfers only a fool would ignore the Italian based transfer specialist.

Commenting on Juranovic on his Here We Go podcast he said:

His price will be around €10m, €12m, €15million so we will see the final price tag.

But this boy is doing great with Celtic. He’s performing at the top level, one of the most interesting right-backs on the market and I have a feeling that in the summer, he will have a chance to move.

I’m told many clubs are exploring this opportunity. Keep an eye on Juranovic.

Celtic are well protected with Juranovic on a five year contract but if an eight figure bid comes in for the defender in the summer it would be difficult to turn down.

Until the age of 25 Juranovic was still playing in Croatia but a season at Legia Warsaw followed by his move to Celtic have given him a far bigger platform to impress.

Losing him after one season would be a major blow but it seems that Ange Postecoglou has a better grasp of the transfer market than Peter Lawwell who tried to replace Moussa Dembele with Vakoun Bayo, Kieran Tierney with Boli Bolingoli and Stuart Armstrong with Youssouf Mulumbu.
