It’s my responsibility- watch Ange’s heart-on-sleeve European assessment

Ange Postecoglou didn’t try to cover up his disappointment over the manner of Celtic’s Europa Conference KO from Bodo Glimt.

The Celtic boss is a heart-on-sleeve type, when his side loses he doesn’t revert to comforting phrases, buzz words or babble to disguise the hurt.

Postecoglou knows the strengths and limitations of the Celtic squad better than anyone, it has been his work in progress since last summer with weaknesses addressed and strengthened during the January winter break.

Of the squad that he inherited from last season’s disasters only Callum McGregor looks like being a certain starter under the Australian.

Jota and Cameron Carter-Vickers are currently regulars in the new-look side but neither is signed up for next season meaning that the overhaul of the club is constant.

The roller-coaster continues away to Hibs on Sunday, with a domestic only schedule hopefully progress can be resumed ahead of a return to European competition next season.

The media are loving this and blowing it right out of proportion. For me, this is the best case scenario. Out of Europe at the right time and concentrate on priority whilst the other half of Glasgow are propelled onto cloud delusion. What we need is a resounding victory at Easter road on Sunday. Fact! Agree with Mick Foy. Never great to exit any competition, especially in this manner, but well done Bodo/Glimt. Deserved win and another big scalp to add to Mourinho’s Roma. Good luck for the rest of the competition.

The Eurovision Petrofac Cup should never have been a priority for Celtic though, so I’m just glad that Ange has learned from the injury disaster that followed when he fielded a strong team in a meaningless tie vs Real Betis.

If the Govan knuckle draggers progress, but don’t win the Europa League, after beating a Diet Dortmund, then great. Hopefully it will have the same effect as their March to Manchester and defeat to Zenit. Just hope the poor city hosting the final is spared what the fantastic people of my second home, Manchester, had to endure.
