Callum McGregor did his best to put a gloss on things but even the Celtic skipper struggled to find an upside in the 3-1 home defeat from Bodo Glimt.

From the early moments in the match it was clear that the Norwegians were far from overawed with a sense of purpose about their play illustrated by the opening goal in the fifth minute when Runar Espejord calmly flicked a low shot beyond Joe Hart.

Bodo matched Celtic in every area, while the homeside tended to take a touch too many of overhit their passes the Norwegians were slick and efficient in everything that they did.

It was thought that lessons had been learned from the goals lost in the Europa League group matches but dropping down a level Celtic found that they were just as fragile defensively.

Some brave noises are being made about next week’s second leg but it looks like an exercise in damage limitation with the focus firmly on domestic matters for the remainder of the season.

Let’s just hopefully win this league ,but I’m not overly confident about now ,but just supposing we do win and get a CL automatic place what on earth are we going to do with it , I couldn’t bear to watch Sevco tonight once I knew Tav pen scored but that final result was fantastic for them and then we met a team just as fit and as high pressing as us and they played us off the park ,that first half was like what we done to Sevco ,but this team Bodo are no mugs and we won’t beat them at home ,so we can then concentrate on winning the league while Sevco are still getting lauded in Europe, and then we’ll go into the CL and God help us ,but hey we maybe learn how to play against smart European teams by then ,but make no mistake we got taught a lesson in Europe once more and no way can we candy coat it.ANGE has to learn European trickery fast.

We will not live this down you could see they watched our games and they put together a to play ,unfortunately the huns

Played well tonight .they were quite good

But I dont know how they managed it , they played a team off form , and beat them. That’s fine ,but that will be telling us they
are better than sliced bread it will come out that if Scotland used the ‘rangers’ team

They would win the world cup ,nae bother.
