Roger Mitchell has sent out despairing tweets about the domestic priorities of Celtic fan media.

It seems that the former SPL chief can’t understand why many fans view full points away to Hibs on Sunday as more important than overturning a two goal deficit in the Artic Circle in the inaugural Europa Conference League.

Winning the SPFL title is far more important to almost all Celtic fans than progressing in the third UEFA tournament, one that Celtic have ‘qualified’ for by failing in the Champions League and Europa League.

Mitchell’s problems with domestic competition is at complete odds with his four year reign as the first ever CEO of the SPL.

During that time he waved through the token contracts for Tore Andre Flo and Ronald de Boer while they were given massive under the counter payments made into offshore Trusts.

Those payments eventually led to The Wee Tax Case which amounted to £2.8m and was unpaid when Rangers went into liquidation in 2012.

With de Boer and Flo on show at Ibrox Mitchell picked up lucrative bonuses for negotiating TV and commercial deals built around the O** F*** where one club played by the rules with full Income Tax and National Insurance paid to Her Majesty, the other club didn’t bother.

All member clubs have to submit player contracts to the SFA and SPL. Contracts for Flo and de Boer showed that they were getting paid less than half the wages Celtic were giving Chris Sutton and Neil Lennon who signed at similar times.
