Now that the transfer window is well and truly closed the range of questions being put to Ange Postecoglou at his pre-match media conferences is lacking in variety.

The Celtic boss is a straight talker, the usual football-speak doesn’t interest him as broadcasters’ fish for sound-bites to fill their sports bulletins.

Most, but certainly not all, of those invited to the pre-match conferences have realised that the Celtic boss has a style of football that barely varies regardless of the opponents or the significance of the match.

Gabriel Antoniazzi recently switched to Radio Clyde from PLZ Soccer where at the start of the season he seemed to assume that the new Celtic boss would know nothing about Hearts. ‘I’ve not come from another planet you know’ was the snappy reply.

It seems that some gentle jousting has built up between Antoniazzi and Postecoglou, ahead of tomorrow’s match against Bodo the Celtic boss was blunt and to the point with his reply.

 2 minutes 40 seconds

Gabriel Antoniazzi: Obviously you are saying there that the approach is going to be the same, you always play attacking football but what needs to change from last week’s performance? Is it just being a bit more solid defensively, being more clinical in front of goal? Is that all that needs to change here to come away with the victory that you require?

AP: No, because that would be changing which is what you said that we don’t do. Look, the perfect game plan only exists in a mythical land well beyond my comprehension. We’ll play our football, we played our football the other night, you’re right, they were more clinical than us, absolutely but we’ve been pretty clinical this year in terms of scoring goals

I said after the game (first leg) that we weren’t as efficient and clinical in the front third, they were, so obviously if that changes we’re in better shape. We don’t need to be more solid defensively. If they had 20 chances and Joe made 15 saves and they’d hit the crossbar I’d say that we have some issues defensively. That’s what we keep focussing on, that’s what I focus on.
