Giovanni van Bronckhorst has ducked out of media duties today leaving Scott Arfield to serve up the scripted excuses for Wednesday’s defeat to Celtic.
SPFL rules are for clubs to put up their manager and a player for media access ahead of matches but like the cinch sponsorship deal the Ibrox club just comply with the rules that suits them.
A month ago van Bronckhorst was being saluted as an upgrade on Mister Gerrard but with a seven point swing at the top of the Premiership table over the course of 16 days some Ibrox fans are starting to question the former Feyenoord boss.
The attitude of players, highlighted by Borna Barisic and apparent lack of tactics displayed in the defeat against Celtic has set off alarm bells among many fans.
After the defeat van Bronckhorst put the blame for the defeat firmly on the players, claiming that they never played as if it was a derby.
Arfield gave all the predictable answers about an improved second half, long way to go etc etc and also spoke about talks continuing over a new contract.
