Even by the bizarre standards of Scottish football one incident at Pittodrie almost defies belief.

Celtic away matches are known to be very heavily policed, on the evidence from Aberdeen last night the level of security on home fans is almost non-existent.

At some stage in the second half an Aberdeen fan was able to get on the pitch unchallenged by any steward or Police Officer, casually jog into the Celtic penalty box to snatch a picture with Joe Hart then return to his mates in the South Stand to watch the rest of the match.

The incident seems to have been planned in advance with someone recording the incident on their phone.

The football pitch is Hart’s place of work, he shouldn’t be confronted by any random jumping from the stand out to impress their pals with 15 minutes of fame.

Aberdeen’s South Stand is very close to the pitch, there isn’t more than two metres from the barrier to the touchline which is even more reason for strong stewarding to ensure the safety of players at work.
