Giorgos Giakoumakis will be back in the Celtic side to face Livingston on Sunday.

The striker scored a hat-trick at home to Dundee but after facing Bodo Glimt he was ruled out of the matches against Hibs and St Mirren due to illness.

None of the forwards have scored in Celtic’s last three matches but fresh firepower will be available for Sunday’s vital trip to the Toni Macaroni Stadium to play fourth placed Livingston.

Covering last night’s media conference, The Celtic Way reports Postecoglou saying:

We’ll need to recover from this game and then we’ll focus. We’ve got time to prepare for that. We’ve got Giakoumakis back for the weekend as well, which I think will give us some more quality in depth.

We’ll be ready for it, we know it’s a tough challenge, but I don’t think any game between now and the end of the season isn’t going to be a tough challenge.

Daizen Maeda has played the striker role in the last two matches but has been off form, much like Jota and Liel Abada.

Matches at the Toni Macaroni have been something of a nightmare for various Celtic managers in recent times but the Giakoumakis option is one that could be effective.

Earlier in the season Albian Ajeti was the sole striker in the 1-0 defeat to Dave Martindale’s side with Celtic barely creating a worthwhile challenge.
