Celtic Ultras make their mark

The Green Brigade certainly made their presence felt at Livingston today with the match kicking off with a green haze settled over the Toni Macaroni Arena.

There was no doubting the importance of the match with many Celtic fans putting the trip to the new town down as the toughest of the remaining fixtures if Ange Postecoglou’s side are to lift the title in May.

With three sides of the stadium handed over to visiting fans a trip to Livingston is almost a home from home for the Celtic squad although the plastic pitch and physical approach of the hosts isn’t the most welcoming.

Piro might be illegal but it seems that the football authorities are almost powerless to prevent it from getting into stadiums with the two teams entering the pitch to a continental style cloud of colour.

By the final whistle there were clear blue skies overhead and clear blue water between the top two in the Premiership. With eight matches to go Celtic are three points and 10 goals better off than their city rivals.

Full capacity at Livingston today sold out which created a big atmosphere and a lot of smoke! Great to see and a great advert for the game.

Other clubs must take note! It benefits everyone and home fans more likely to want to come to this than a half empty stadium.

Bollocks. It’s illegal, dangerous and a hazard to health.
