Leeds United are once again ‘keeping tabs’ and ‘preparing a bid’ for Ryan Kent.

According to Football Insider the winger has a £20m release clause in the contract that he signed with the Ibrox club in September 2019.

With two SPFL goals from 22 appearances an offer of £20m is highly unlikely for a 25-year-old with just over a year left on his contract. If Kent isn’t sold this summer he’ll be in the Connor Goldson zone of running down his deal, at least in August Celtic picked up around £2m from Ryan Christie in a similar situation.

Ahead of the summer Ibrox fire sale, Football Insider claims:

A Leeds source has told Football Insider that Kent remains on the club’s radar despite the departure of firm admirer Marcelo Bielsa last month.

The Premier League outfit could make a fresh move once their Premier League status is secured.

This site revealed on Tuesday (22 March) that Rangers are making new attempts to secure Kent to a new contract but face having to cash in on him if he won’t sign.

Football Insider exclusively revealed in September 2020 that Kent has a £20million release clause in his current contract.

Bielsa certainly admired from afar, in five transfer windows he never made a move for the former Liverpool starlet. Last summer Leeds paid £25m to sign Dan James from Manchester United.

With Nathan Patterson bombing at Everton it seems highly unlikely that offers of Dembele Dollars will be arriving at Ibrox in the summer.

Leeds Live have picked up on the Kent yarn.
