Pundits go to war over Sky Sports issues

Ewen Cameron and Alison Conroy had a fiery exchange on Twitter following Scotland’s 2-2 draw with Austria in Vienna.

It wasn’t the quality of John McGinn’s goal or the late defensive lapse that they challenged each other over but the content and apparent lack of interest shown in the Scottish game by Sky Sports.

Conroy is without doubt a genuine fan of the Scottish game, after switching from Radio Clyde to Sky Sports she should have known better what sort of reaction she’d get defending her employer’s coverage of Scottish football.

Cameron can normally be dismissed as a shock-jock, trying his best to convince others that he is a Jambo when his excitement peeks over matters at Ibrox but in this instance he made points that few fans or Sky subscribers would argue with.

A lack of analysis from Vienna and ignoring next week’s derbies at Tynecastle and Tannadice just about sums up Sky interest in the Scottish game- outside of their template coverage and over-hyping of Sunday’s match at Ibrox.

Three decade’s of under investment by SKY and of underselling of the sport by the SFA and various league have left our sport unable to compete with English League sides.

The people in charge of our sport and indeed the clubs themselves show an incredible lack of ambition in selling our game.has led us to this pass.

We long ago passed the point of no return regarding this issue because we allowed under funding we can no longer compete and have to gamble in signings or attempt to plunder untapped markets.

This is all still the blame of the blazers at the SFA ,totally inept bunch of useless fucks, for myself personally once this season is over I will get rid of sky sports, living in England it’s the only way I can follow Celtic and Scottish football,I also subscribe to by sport who done a much better job covering football in Scotland but I drew the line at premier sports for the Scottish cup ,as for BBC rangers I mean Scotland forget it a bunch of biased bigoted wankers interspersed with soup takers ,bonnar etc.so I will look to subscribe to Celtic TV next season.or stick with but sport’s till we go out of Europe.
