Kenny Macintyre isn’t very good at disguising his feelings.

Before Celtic’s 2-0 win over St Mirren he twice mentioned interviewing Graeme Souness in his pre-match interview with Ange Postecoglou. What the former Newcastle manager’s thoughts were ahead of the match are unknown and irrelevant.

With his own team scoring an early goal away to St Johnstone Macintyre was desperate to be present for Celtic slipping up, on Sunday he was at Easter Road but his journey home from the capital turned out to be tortured.

Goals from Cameron Carter-Vickers in the 55th minute and Callum McGregor in the 81st gave Celtic full points to maintain their lead at the top of the Premiership. It was certainly a tough watch for the reporter from BBC Scotland.

Kenny MacIntyre: Ange, I’d love to know your thoughts on that game. I’ve seen some fantastic matches this season, that certainly wasn’t one of them, it was a hard watch at times, is that fair?

Ange Postecoglou: Well it depends on what you are looking for, maybe you are disappointed at the way that it went mate, I’m not really sure.

Macintyre trying to but in: No it is not that, I just felt, I just felt

Postecoglou: We’ve won a game 2-0, they didn’t create anything, I think that we dominated the football, it is a bit hard when the opposition sit so deep. If anything I thought we were better. We were solid, we stayed composed, we did what we had to do to weigh down an opposition that was sitting deep and defending well.
