Pre and post match BBC Scotland don’t interview Giovanni van Bronckhorst, any of his players or members of the Ibrox coaching staff.

It is a long running dispute dating back to 2015 but it certainly doesn’t prevent BBC Scotland staff from basing much of their sports content around matters from Ibrox.

After starting 2022 trailing by six points Celtic are now three points ahead in the Premiership title race with nine matches left to play.

It is a remarkable turnaround, especially after Ange Postecoglou’s side lost their first three away matches, at that stage not many pundits were anticipating a title contest, no-one was tipping Celtic to be out in front after 29 rounds of fixtures.

BBC Scotland seem to be struggling to cope with this turn of events, following last night’s matches their lead story was that Postecoglou didn’t care about the result of the team closest to Celtic in the league table.

The BBC website reports:

Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou says Rangers’ results “make no difference” to him after his side saw off a stubborn St Mirren to stay top of the Scottish Premiership table.

After a frustrating first half, goals from Cameron Carter-Vickers and Callum McGregor broke down the visitors.

Nearest challengers Rangers remain within three points of the leaders after a 2-0 win at St Johnstone.

“I don’t care,” Postecoglou responded when asked about the Rangers score. “What’s important is if we are winning games then we are in good shape. I wasn’t looking at the ladder when we were six points behind and I’m not looking at it now.”

Despite the above result from BBC Scotland, St Johnstone lost 1-0, not 2-0 as reported above.
