Atrocious performance- former SFA referee calls out Bobby Madden

A former referee has called out Bobby Madden over his horror show in the Scottish Cup semi-final. 

The match was marred by a series of baffling decisions by the man with the whistle with Chris Sutton and Michael Stewart heavily critical as they watched the match for Premier Sports. 

Up until 2018 Derek Crothers was climbing the refereeing ladder but in an interview with the Daily Mail he revealed that he hung up his whistle due to cronyism and nepotism. 

It seems that the Glasgow and Lanarkshire Referee Associations have a monopoly on top flight officials with Madden taking charge of two of the four Glasgow derbies this season. 

John Lundstram led a particularly charmed life in today’s match, the former Sheffield United man was barely spoken to for a number of fouls. When he raised his leg to prevent Joe Hart clearing the ball Madden was surrounded by Celtic players but no card appeared.

Note for Bobby Madden – it’s not your job to keep players on the pitch, it’s your job to enforce the laws of the game and protect players safety by enforcing said laws of the game

Aribo goes down in the box where there is no foul, Hart has the ball and Madden stops game stopping a quick counter attack

Juranovic gets clearly fouled and is down Madden gives no foul allows a quick counter attack which results in a caution for McGregor
