Ben Doak’s protracted move to Liverpool took another step forward today with an Instagram post about a ‘new chapter’.
There has been a lot of speculation that the teenager is on his way to Liverpool from Celtic but still no official announcement from Anfield.
Doak made two substitute appearances for the Celtic first team following the winter break but his absence from the first team squad since February 2 was a tell-tale sign that his future was elsewhere.
At Celtic Doak could have looked forward to playing in next season’s Lowland League while trying to break into Ange Postecoglou’s first team plans.
With Liverpool there is the u-23 Premier League and a well established network of loan clubs to develop his career.
Making it all the way through to the Liverpool first team will be a long shot but their Development set up will give him the perfect platform to step into the professional game.
