Celtic’s Ibrox hero is celebrated on canvas

The enormity of his goal at Ibrox on Sunday still probably hasn’t yet sunk in for Cameron Carter-Vickers. 

Scoring winning goals at Ibrox brings special recognition to Celtic players, in March 2018 Odsonne Edouard earned his ‘spurs’ as a Celtic player with a dramatic winner for 10 men. 

The French kid went on to score many famous goals during four years at Celtic but his Ibrox winner is probably remembered as much, or more than goals in cup finals.

On Sunday Carter-Vickers joined that select band of Celts to score an Ibrox winner, for a defender to do so after Celtic went behind is pretty rare. 

While that moment will be forever in the memory, and in canvas, it is only part of a process that still has six matches to run. 

Having taken 34 points from their last 12 matches Celtic need to secure four more wins to win the SPFL title, if one of those matches is against their Glasgow rivals the finishing post draws closer.
