Joe Ledley is looking for Celtic to salvage his weekend.

On Saturday the former hoops midfielder was kitted out in blue and white for the South Wales derby but a 4-0 win for Swansea at Cardiff wasn’t the result he was hoping for.

In the summer of 2011 Ledley swapped Cardiff for Celtic where he became an essential component of the exciting young side constricted by Neil Lennon.

Producing the goods in the Glasgow derby is essential for any new recruit with the Welshman making his biggest mark in December 2011 with a goal that set Celtic up for nine years on top of the table.

Alongside Gary Hooper, Tony Stokes, Emilio Izaguirre, Charlie Mulgrew and Fraser Forster the Welshman enjoyed the two years transformation from runners-up in Glasgow to performing and producing in the Champions League.

An away win at Ibrox today can half the journey time for the current Celtic side with Ange Postecoglou’s side in the driving seat at the start of a critical month.
