Apart from a storming first five minutes David Edgar was left with nothing to savour from today’s defeat in the Glasgow derby.

Aaron Ramsey’s third minute goal gave the home fans false expectations but by the time Allan McGregor had fumbled a seventh minute shot to Tom Rogic it was back to reality for the loyal bears.

Cameron Carter-Vickers put Celtic in front before half time with Celtic’s superior players, tactics and management reminding the home fans that last season’s events truly were a one-off.

Rangers going down 2-1 to Celtic and with it probably saying good-bye to the league title.

It is incredibly disappointing but more so because I genuinely thought that we were going to win. The first five minutes, the performance that we saw for the first five minutes was what I expected to see for the full 90 but what we did then get was just the microcosm of this season which is bad decisions, making silly mistakes, not holding onto leads, throwing away points from good positions, not making the most of the situation that we had and that will be the story of this season.

Too many players didn’t turn up today. Joe Aribo was awful, in the first half he was to the detriment of Rangers. Roofe couldn’t get involved, Kent couldn’t get anything going, one of those games for him.

I think that a lot of them have checked out, I think that is clear, and I think that winning the title last year for them was the be all and end all. They’ve done it and they’ve just not been able to get back up.
