Kyogo Furuhashi was given a fantastic reception by the Celtic support as he made his first appearance of 2022, coming off the bench in the 74th minute of the 7-0 win over St Johnstone.Â
The striker suffered a hamstring injury against the same opponents on December 26 with hoops fans anxiously tracking his return through a variety of social media posts.Â
Giorgos Giakoumakis stepped in to replace Kyogo in some style but after scoring his 13th goal of the season the former VVV Venlo striker picked up a first half injury with Liel Abada taking over.Â

Matt O’Riley put Celtic 6-0 in front in the 73rd minute but there was an equally loud roar when Kyogo replaced Jota as St Johnstone prepared to restart the match.Â
Celtic will anxiously monitor the extent of the injury to Giakoumakis but with six different scorers and Kyogo back in action Ange Postecoglou has a few options if the Greek striker misses next week’s Scottish Cup Semi-Final at Hampden.Â
What lucky people you are to witness that kind of stuff…Glasgow will always b Green+White—one day !
Nah, that reception was for McCarthy … 🙂
Great to have Kyogo back in the squad and we hope that Georgios will be back soon.
Well done our Bhoys yesterday.
Thank you to the wonderful ST Johnstone fans who behaved themselves impeccably. You are always welcome at Celtic Park. I wish your team well for the rest of the season and hope you stay clear of the drop and enjoy a great season next session.
