South Melbourne FC enjoyed an influx of Celtic fans for their Victoria League fixture at home to Avondale.Â
The offer of free entry for anyone in Celtic apparel was well received with hundreds of additional fans turning up for a seven goal thriller.Â
From the videos shared on Twitter it looks like the bar takings at South Melbourne turned in a tidy profit.Â
In true Celtic style South Melbourne found themselves 3-0 down at half-time but rallied after the break to score four times before the 70th minute to secure full points.Â
Afterwards, in tribute to their former manager, the South Melbourne team sang a song that has been a rallying call to Celtic teams and supporters down the generations.Â
With the success of the venture on and off the pitch South Melbourne may repeat the offer and tap into the growing support for Celtic and Ange Postecoglou with Australian media outlets happy to follow the progress of their highly successful export.Â
