Luca Connell leaves Celtic just as much a mystery as when he arrived at the club three years ago.Â
A couple of appearances in pre-season friendlies is all that fans have to go on as another project drifts away from the club to pick up his career elsewhere.Â
With his throwback hairstyle and place in the Irish international squad the Scouser seemed to be an interesting addition to the Celtic squad- and was certainly popular among his team-mates as his farewell post on Instagram proved.Â
A clutch of team-mates from the Reserve/Development squad, including Karamoko Dembele, commented on his departure.Â
Jonny Hayes’ Celtic career overlapped by a year with Connell, the Aberdeen winger added:Â
All the best mucker! Can’t believe it took that long for you to get a decent hair cut and to stop wearing your shorts round your nipples!Â
Connell has been linked with joining Scott Brown at Fleetwood and is unlikely to be short of offers.Â
