Image for Daily Record reveals incredible value of van Bronckhorst’s star studded squad

With no sign of any bids coming in the Daily Record has turned to Transfermarkt for feel good stories from Ibrox.

Transfer business is underway across the globe but no one has yet offered £25m for Calvin Bassey despite the hype that following the Europa League Final.

Alfredo Morelos, Joe Aribo and Ryan Kent have a year left on their contracts with no sign of Dembele Dollars being offered or a renewed contract on improved terms.

Transfermarkt does provide a decent service on contracts and the movement of players, when it comes to future transfer valuations they are as much in the dark as the ace team at the Record and their Bassey Fantasies.

To their army of readers, the Record explains:

Gio van Bronckhorst will have the Premiership title on his mind this summer with Rangers.

Having reached the Europa League final and lifted the Scottish Cup during his debut campaign, the Dutchman will be looking to build a team to reclaim to league title.

That see plenty of incomings this summer, but sporting director Ross Wilson will be looking to implement the player trading model.

That could see a significant influx of cash coming into the club with the likes of Alfredo Morelos, Ryan Kent and Joe Aribo approaching the final year of their contracts.

Calvin Bassey has also been linked with a move away, with the likes of Aston Villa having to offer a big windfall to tempt Rangers to sell.

Among the valuations is Connor Goldson £7.2m, Filip Helander £3.15m, Borna Barisic £5.4m, James Tavernier £6.3m, Mateusz Zukowski (google him) £2.25m, John Lundstram £4.95m, Ryan Jack £3.15m, Ryan Kent £12.6m and Jake Hastie £225,000.

With that sum added to the £40m for reaching the Europa League Final and the fees for Nathan Patterson and Steven Gerrard there is bound to be plenty of incoming business at Ibrox in the next couple of weeks.

The sevco sycophants in the LL can rattle out any old numbers on their keyboards ,it means nothing unless a club actually hands over a cheque .
I have lost count of the number of reports of clubs preparing bids for sevco 2012 players that came to nothing .

There was one sevco fans site that had an article saying .If Aberdeen can get £10m for Ramsey ,then Bassey must be worth £30m .

    Their view was based on
£4.5m fee, £3.5m add ons and 20% sell on

It seems Liverpool are paying £4m transfer fee + £2.5 add ons , I think it’s reasonable to assume the add ons would be based on 1st team apps .

So it’s a £4m transfer not a £10m one ,They are a sevco fan media site ,so you can expect nonsense of that nature .
    What is the MSM excuse

There is a more nefarious reason for the zombie Board in persisting with these ridiculous player valuations.

Keep in mind all the share issues over the years where the Board and investors (sic) converted debt to shares or bought shares at the nominal value of 25p a pop.

The value of all the shares issued, the Capital value of the Company/Klub/ thingy, is listed in accounting terms on the balance sheet as a liability I.e. debt and that total value must equal the value of all the assets belonging to the Klub.

So every time they issue new shares they have to inflate the value of the assets or else the value of an individual share will diminish, remember you can only cut a cake so many times before the individual portion is just crumbs.

So to present a picture of stability and financial good health the share price must be propped up and this satisfies the auditors who are told not to ask too many question, that’s why they give ‘going concern’ qualifications in their reports.

Effectively the Auditors are saying ‘ we know it’s a basket of shite’ but hey that’s what the Customer wants us to say.

All the other assets belonging to the Kompany need to be realistic, they can be verified. Player valuations are illusionary and can only be verified if and when the players are sold.

The player valuations , as an asset to the Kompany, are in reality subject to an accounting process called amortisation, similar to depreciation of other assets. It’s a bit more involved than I’ve described here but the general picture is the same.

It’s a con to keep the fans onside, ‘Oh look, see how much our team is worth…’ A sleight of hand that doesn’t fool the Auditors but ‘ hey ho as long as they pay our bill why should we care’ and a defence for the games administrators to hide behind when things go tits up
‘ how were we to know, their books looked fine to us and we’re not accountants’.

There is a reason their shares are not listed on the Stock Exchange. If they were they would have been sanctioned long ago. ‘Auld Squinty’ knew what he was doing when he delisted them and got rid of the NOMAD ( Nominated Advisor [ Finance] ).
Come on tae fluck HMRC get in there.
